Supernode North & Metallurgical Silicon Production Facility
Solquartz allocated 340 hectares for the Supernode North & Metallurgical Silicon Production Facility
Federal, State, and Local Government are investing $80 million in enabling infrastructure for the Lansdown Eco-Industrial Precinct close to existing high voltage power lines.
Partnership Agreement
Solquartz and Private Energy Partners (PEP) an affiliate enterprise of Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners – will use their combined expertise to deliver the Supernode North & Metallurgical Silicon Production Facility, co-located within the Lansdown Eco-Industrial Precinct (LEIP), at Woodstock, about 40km south of Townsville.
Supernode North will store energy generated at nearby solar farms, which can be used by the proposed production facilities at the LEIP. This will help reduce electricity waste, stabilise power supply and support a more efficient, secure and reliable energy system.
The proposed Metallurgical Silicon Production Facility will use Queensland’s minerals and renewable energy to build a resilient, ethical and sustainable Australian-made supply chain.
Combining Quinbrook’s expertise in sustainable infrastructure investment with PEP’s deep capabilities in operational transformation and private equity, this strategic partnership brings together complementary strengths to accelerate the project’s delivery and long-term success.
